This is the very first ever 1040 tax form issued by the IRS. This is the FIRST INCOME TAX FORM filled out by the American people.

Notice only the VERY RICH had to pay income tax. (ie: people who made over $50,000 which 75 years ago was a huge sum of money). And the tax rate was very SMALL, less then 10% of your income.

Now even if your a small family barely making ends meet the government takes 50% or more of your income in taxes. That's when you consider all taxes combined ie: Federal Income Tax, State Income Tax, State, County, and City Sales Taxes, State, County, and City Property Taxes, Taxes for running the Government run Public School System.
